Silent Hill 2 Inspiration
In the making of silent hill 2 documentary, one of the artists talks about how the themes of sex and death are the most relatable to the average human, how every human thinks about these things everyday. They use these themes to psychologically immerse the player, to get under their skin.
In Naughty P: Xanax for Breakfast, the core game play metric is anxiety. The characters in the game experience fear of disease which translates into heightened anxiety and a need to quell that anxiety with drugs. The notion of disease itself is anxiety producing - mostly because of the powerlessness and uncertainty associated therein.
